From August 3rd to 9th, 2025, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) came alive as Versity Capital took center stage during Femi Gbajabiamila Hall Week, turning the campus into a launchpad for future leaders and innovators.

The flagship Career Day wasn’t just an event – it was a movement themed “Chamber of Growth”. Founded by talent strategist and investor ’Seun Johnson, Versity Capital exists to bridge the often-ignored gap between academic learning and real-world earning for African undergraduates.

Over the course of the week, students engaged in high-value dialogues with industry leaders like Aramide Balogun, Strategy & Tax Controller – Microsoft, and Bukola Reis, Partner at Molaran & Reis Consultancy, and Workplace Experience & People Strategy Advisor.

The highlight? Pitch Your Hustle, where six student-entrepreneurs pitched live, with Darah Pizza & Edibles walking away with ₦350,000 in support funding and three months of free internet worth ₦50,000. Versity Capital also celebrated culture, sponsoring the Hall’s “House of Assembly” pageant and awarding ₦150,000 each to the crowned President and First Lady, amongst other voucher rewards.

For ’Seun Johnson, this wasn’t charity – it was strategy. “We’re here to raise the value system, sharpen financial literacy, and inspire self-reliance before graduation,” he explains. With funding, mentorship, and access to networks, Versity Capital is equipping undergraduates to compete globally while solving problems locally.

Undergraduates across the nation and continent can continue to interact with Versity Capital through its growing digital community – by following @VersityCapital across social media, engaging with resources and mentorship opportunities, and exploring the platform’s  website

The mission is clear: plant the seeds for an economic renaissance – one student, one idea, one opportunity at a time.
